Dr. Muhammad Wasim is a dedicated Assistant Professor and Coordinator in the Department of Computer Science at UIT University (UITU) with an impressive career spanning over twenty-five years. Throughout his extensive journey, he has held teaching positions at prestigious institutions, including the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST), Khadim Ali Shah Bukhari Institute of Technology (KASBIT), Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology, and PRESTON University. Dr. Wasim has also actively contributed to research and academic committees, such as the UIT CS Board of Studies, and Board of Faculty, and the Ilma CS Board. Furthermore, he has reviewed research papers for esteemed journals like the Journal of IGI Global, USA, the Journal of Chinese Institute of Engineers (JCIE), the Journal of Information and Communication Technology (JICT), and the Sindh University Research Journal (SURJ).
Dr. Wasim's academic journey has been marked by his dedication to learning and professional development. He earned his Ph.D. in Information Technology from HU in Karachi in 2017, further adding to his extensive educational background, which includes an MS in Mobile Computing and Information Systems, an M.Phil in Bio-Physics, an MCS in Computer Science, and an M.Sc in Bio-Physics from various respected institutions. His commitment to lifelong learning is also demonstrated through his participation in numerous training programs and workshops. These include courses on Machine Learning, Data Analysis, Python for Biologists, and Advanced Digital Image Processing, showcasing his passion for staying updated with the latest advancements in technology and research methodologies.
Dr. Wasim's contributions to research are significant and varied, with publications covering a wide array of topics in computer science, technology, and related fields. His publications include topics such as automated ceramic tiles inspection systems, real-time logistics management systems, ontology-based clothing searches, image processing techniques, and more. He has also authored book chapters and received several prestigious awards and funding for projects, underlining his commitment to innovation and research excellence. His establishment of the Image Processing Research Lab (IPRL) at UIT is a testament to his commitment to advancing the field.
